Even in the heat of the summer, Your Terriers are working their tails off to get ready to defend their national title.
That's what John Bishop of USCHO wrote about today in a story about the man behind the muscles, Strength and Conditioning Coach Mike Boyle.
Boyle is just one of many superior coaches that make up the staff at BU athletics, and one of the many reasons BU gets some of the best recruits year in and year out.
As you know, the staff is one man shorter this season, as David Quinn has moved on to coaching the Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL. It will be interesting to see how long the Terriers can hold on to their monster coaching staff, including Associate Coach Mike Bavis.
Thanks for checking out Two Man Advantage, an independent blog dedicated to covering the BU Terriers Men's Hockey Team. It is in no way affiliated with Boston University, Boston University Athletics, Hockey East or the NCAA. Enjoy.

Who the hell are the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men?
You probably know them best as the place where P.J. Stock played for a year before moving on to greener pastures with the Hartford Wolf Pack.
They're the Terriers' first opponent of the 2009-2010 season, that's who.
October 3rd marks the first exhibition contest of the year for BU, and you better believe that The X-Men will be visiting the Terriers and not the other way around. St. Francis will stay an extra night for another exhibition contest the next night at Newton University.
St. Francis is represented by 11 varsity sports. Their men's football team won something called the College Bowl in 1966, which is apparently the biggest athletic accomplishment in the history of the school. They also have a pretty good women's rugby program.
But Your Terriers won't be playing football or rugby. They'll be playing against these guys.
Last year St. Francis finished fourth in their conference with a record of 15-13, putting up 107 goals while surrendering 100.
The guy you'll want to watch out for is Brett Morrison, wearing number 10 on his back. The 5-10 center led the X-Men in scoring last year with 12 goals and 19 assists.
The program also sent three players to the professional ranks this year.
So there you have it. 100% more than you ever wanted or needed to know about the X-Men of St. Francis Xavier.

The Best Rivalry in Sports Will Skate at Fenway
Just in case you weren't excited enough about the Winter Classic at Fenway Park, the deal just got a bit sweeter.
In a move that would have made Jack Falla proud, the boys from BU and BC will be hitting the great outdoors and playing on a pond in the midst of a Boston winter.
The Terriers will have a chance to take part in the week-long festivities at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark," when they take on the BC Eagles on January 8th.
(Read all about it with stories from The FreeP, NESN, The Boston Globe, and WEEI.)
The very frozen puck is scheduled to drop at 7:30 PM, meaning that the respective student sections will have even more of a reason to spend a few hours warming up at Cask 'N' Flagon before they pour into the seats.

In case you're wondering, the average high temperature in Boston on January 8th is 37.4 degrees. and the average low is 21.2. The all-time record low is -5.8 degrees -- before the windchill. So you better find a way to layer the clothes heavy under the scarlet and white.
This is going to be one of the coolest events you can possibly attend, and it's going to be significantly cheaper than the pro game on New Years Day. You can score tickets starting on September 17 starting at 5 bucks.
Yes, 5 bucks!
For the price of half a beer at a ballgame, you get to watch the Terriers skate around the infield at Fenway.
Get pumped up Dog Pound, this is going to be a ridiculously fun experience, and Terriers fans should make sure there isn't an empty seat in the house.
The last DI game to be played in the Great Outdoors was "The Cold War Game" between Michigan and MSU. They packed almost 75,000 fans into Spartan Stadium, so Boston better be able to hit 40 grand.
Check out GoTerriers.com for more constant updates on tickets and any other news on the game.

Put The Terriers In Your Computer
What's the wallpaper on your computer looking like right now? Megan Fox? Boston Skyline? Blank Screen?
This one trumps them all.
It's a nice championship wallpaper of your 2009 Terriers at center ice in DC.
Download it from GoTerriers here.

Re-United and It Feels So Good....
What do Brandon Yip, Kevin Shattenkirk, Colby Cohen and Kieran Millan all have in common with David Quinn?
They all work, or will work, for the Colorado Avalanche.
Quinn left BU to become the Head Coach of the Av's AHL Affiliate, The Lake Erie Monsters. He should soon be linked up with a fair number of players he helped coach to a national championship this year.
BU and Daily Free Press legend Fluto Shinzawa wrote a column about Quinn for The Globe today.
As always, Fluto knocked it out of the park and learned us on Quinn, past, present and future.
