Matt Gilroy has gone a long way toward making the Rangers' NHL roster.
Gilroy scored a goal that earned a standing ovation from his mates on the bench, and also kept his team in the game with a goal in the shootout in last night's game against New Jersey.
The night before was a home game against the Bruins, an event that Gilroy said gave him chills.
Coach Tortorella has given Gilroy a ton of ice in these first two preseason games, indicating that one of the two open spots on defense could be Gilroy's to lose.
And if that's the case, he seems to be on his way to holding on to it.
