BC Tumbles in Final Games Before Fenway

Denver Cup Not Kind to the Eagles

Last season the Terriers rolled through Colorado en route to winning the Denver Cup over RPI and the #5 ranked Denver Pioneers.  This season The Eagles of BC got a shot at the tournament, and they didn't fare quite so well.

USCHO broke down the tournament, picking BC as one of the favorites.

Before the tournament, the Eagles had won 5 in a row, and were undefeated in their last 7 games, good enough to vault them all the way to #5 in the nation.

The first game of the weekend should have been a breeze for the Eagles, a matchup with St. Lawrence.  It started well for BC, who took an early 2-0 lead.  However, they surrendered 5 unanswered goals to lose the game 5-2.

The next day wasn't much better for BC, when they faced off against second ranked Denver.  The Pioneers, fresh off a 7-0 romp of Nebraska Omaha, took down BC 4-3.

Denver earned the win in the tournament they host, and BC's momentum going into the Fenway game was squashed.

Thank you, Denver Cup.
