Bruins and Flyers Warm Up the Ice For BU BC

Bruins Beat Flyers in Fenway Undercard

Ok, so it was the main event, but not for BU and BC hockey fans.

For us, this was just a delicious little preview of how wonderful the game is going to be a week from tonight.

Sure, Tim Thomas and the Bruins were excited to play at Fenway, but does anyone believe they are anywhere near as pumped about the chance to play there than the kids?

It's BU BC.  The best rivalry in sports.  And BU needs this game desperately.  This is going to be an outstanding game.

I can't even imagine the adrenaline for a bunch of college kids who get the chance to play on the ice at Fenway.  Not to mention the atmosphere at a college game is just going to be a hundred times more electric than it was for the NHL game, as it always is.

But the NHL really set all of this up right.  The ice looked great, even a day after a big snow storm.  They had a huge jumbotron out in center field, and even a mini ice rink out there for little kids.  The announcement of the USA Olympic team after the game was also a nice touch.

Add to this the fact that it was a great game with a fantastic finish with the home team coming out on top and you've got pretty much the perfect Winter Classic.

But like I said, to me this is just a nice little appetizer for BU BC.
