Merrimack 6 -- BU 3
First, let's give you a peek at the game stories recapping this atrocity, from USCHO, GoTerriers, The Eagle Tribune, Hockey East Online and WTBU Sports. Also, check out the box score.
BU is now the proud the proud owner of a four game losing streak. Care to know when the last time that happened was? Well let's hop in the way-back machine, all the way to 2004.
From Feburary 6 -- Feburary 14 of 2004, BU dropped four in a row to Providence, BC in the Beanpot Final, Merrimack, and again to Providence. They lost by a total margin of -6 over those four contests. It was only part of a miserable year for the Scarlet and White, who finished 12-17-9 and 6-13-5 in Hockey East play. At the time of that fourth loss, BU sat in 8th place in Hockey East.
Useless trivia of the day: Ryan Whitney led that team in points with 25 on the year.
Oh, and by the way, last year's Terriers lost six games all season long. They now have six losses after playing just eight games this year. That folks, is not a good thing. Not a good thing at all.
BU didn't take the loss very well, either. Colby Cohen showed his frustration fairly openly, taking slashing, roughing and hitting after the whistle penalties before fighting Matt Moulakelis of Merrimack.
The French sensation Stephane da Costa scored for Merrimack, and Brnadon Brodhag tallied two of his own to earn the first star of the game.
Millan sucked. That's it. Round 2 tonight.
Thanks for checking out Two Man Advantage, an independent blog dedicated to covering the BU Terriers Men's Hockey Team. It is in no way affiliated with Boston University, Boston University Athletics, Hockey East or the NCAA. Enjoy.
