Slip Slidin' Away: BU Drops Game at Maine, 3-2

Last season, the Boston University Terriers lost six games all season long.  That includes their one loss in the best of three Hockey East Quarterfinals series that they went on to win.

Six.

The Terriers have played just seven games this season, and they are now just one loss away from matching that same number from last season.

With a 3-2 loss at Maine, BU falls to 2-5 on the season, including conference losses to Amherst, Lowell, Northeastern and today to Maine.  Their lone conference victory came in the first game of a home and home with UML.

That means the Terriers are now 1-4 in Hockey East play, putting them in a tie for dead last in the conference standings.  Translation: If the playoffs started today, BU would be on the outside looking in.

With that being said, the playoffs do not start today.  BU has plenty of time to right the ship, but after dropping three consecutive games for the first time in two seasons, there will need to be some serious changes in Terrier land for things to improve dramatically.

Back soon with a full wrap on this very disappointing weekend for BU.
