Yip hurt himself on Monday night against Detroit, and is expected to miss over a month for the Avalanche, whose regular season ends on April 11. Do the math, and you see that if Yip can get back, it probably won't be until the post-season.
The Denver Post is speculating that the injury is a separated shoulder.
Yip Has Excelled in A Short Time With the Avs
The Yipper has burst onto the professional scene with 11 goals and 7 assists in his first 26 games in the NHL. He had already made his way onto Colorado's third line.
Unfortunately, injuries have always been a problem for Yip, who missed the first three months of the season, as well as the majority of his sophomore season at BU. He's now shown us that he can play on a pro level. Now we just have to hope he can stay on the ice.
Best of luck, and get well soon Brandon.
