Lady Terriers Go Dancing

Beat UConn In OT To Win Hockey East Title

Taking a page from their male counterparts a year ago, the Lady Terriers Hockey Team won the Hockey East title in dramatic fashion with a 2-1 overtime victory over #7 ranked Connecticut.  The win gives the team an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.

Sophomore defender Tara Watchorn of Ontario won it for BU with a long slap shot 9:52 into the overtime period.

Terriers' senior netminder Melissa Haber made 25 saves in the game and earned the tournament most valuable player award.

The victory marks the Women's Ice Hockey team's first ever Hockey East Championship, and their first ever chance to play in the NCAA tournament.  They will learn their opponent in the first round tonight at 7:30 pm.

Congrats to the Lady Terriers, and may the same fate come to the gentlemen in a week!
