No More Giants

The Two Towers Have Moved On

I understand that this is completely meaningless to most people who will take in the games this weekend at Agganis, but there is one element that I will sorely miss from past BU-Maine matchups.

For three seasons Ben Bishop patrolled the pipes for the Black Bears, consistently putting up great numbers.  He gave opposing teams fits, even the most finely tuned offensive machines.  Ben Bishop was simply tough to beat.

THAT'S BECAUSE HE IS 15 FEET TALL!

GO PLAY BASKETBALL YOU MONSTER!

As you can see in the above picture, Bishop is a freak of nature who defeats his opponents by stepping on their human heads.  He actually ate Jeff Lerg immediately after this picture was snapped.

Bishop actually stands at 6'7" before he puts on skates.  But if that wasn't enough, Maine went up to Quebec and found another monster to play defense directly in front of Bishop.

Simon Denis-Pepin is also 6'7".  He is also scary.  And the two of them together simply hurt people.

Well, Bishop was gone from Maine last year, and Danis Pepin is no longer a Black Bear either.  He has moved on to the Blackhawks AHL affiliate in Rockford, where he is now teammates with former Terrier Peter MacArthur.

By the way, Bishop sniffed the NHL last season, performing nicely in 6 games.  He is currently with the Blues' AHL affiliate in Peoria.
