Turnaround Town

BU Seems to Have Turned the Corner
For the first time all season long, the Terriers have earned four points in a weekend.

Take that in, think about it, let it percolate a little bit and then spit it back out.
For the first time all season long, the Terriers have earned four points in a weekend.

And they did it in resounding fashion.  Coming into this game, all we heard about was the amazing Black Bear power play and the unstoppable Scott Darling in net.  We heard about the Sweedish Sensastion Gustav Nyquist and his 40 points.  But none of those things mattered this weekend.

BU out-scored Maine 12-6 in the two game set, putting the hottest team in the league on ice.  No power play talk.  No goalie talk.  No Swedes.  Just tough, smart, fast Terrier hockey.  And that's what won the weekend.

The wins inched the Terriers to 13-12-3 overall and 10-9-2 in Hockey East.

Back in September, no BU fan would have been excited about their team being a single notch over .500, but right now it feels like the Terriers have scaled a mountain.

Just 44 days ago, BU sat in the basement of Hockey East with a 4-9-3 record.  They had just lost to a dismal RPI team, and had been dismantled by their arch-rival not much sooner.

BU is relevant again, and they're still on the move.  The Terriers end their best weekend of the year in 4th place in the Conference, two points out of 3rd and 4 points out of 2nd.

Here.  We.  Come.
