You Look Familiar....

Terriers and Eagles Ready for 4th Meeting This Season, 3rd Since January

We're not going to go through the whole routine of Know Your Enemy for this one, because we know this enemy pretty damn well.  BU and BC are meeting for the fourth time this season, and the 250th time overall.

Instead, we're going to look at what the Eagles have done since the teams last met up on January 22 at Conte Forum.
When BU and BC last saw each other, it was on a Friday night on NESN, and the commentators couldn't stop raving about the goaltending despite the fact that the game saw a total of 9 goals.  In reality, they actually weren't too far off.

Kieran Millan turned away a career high 42 shots, while BC freshman Parker Milner was beat 5 times on 31 shots.  Milner was better than his stat line, getting beat 3 times on the power play, including the game winner from Colby Cohen in overtime.  Milner stood on his head throughout much of the game, but he just couldn't hold back the offensive onslaught from the Terriers.

Chris Kreider had a big game for the Eagles back in January, earning the #2 star of the game by netting two goals for the home team.  In addition to Colby's score, BU got goals from Warsofsky, Vinny Saponari (the goal of the year), Wade Megan and Nick Bonino.

The next night, BC stumbled again against Lowell, and it looked like they might slip into a bit of a slump.  Lowell defeated BC on the strength of a 3rd period breakaway tally by Paul Worthington en route to a 3-1 victory in Lowell.

Since then, however, it has been nothing but success for the high-powered Eagles offense.

They bounced back with a 5-2 victory over Providence, a 6-0 win over Harvard in the opening round of the Beanpot, and a 7-1 romp over Amherst this weekend.

The stars for the Eagles have been outstanding over the three game winning streak. In those three games, Joe Whitney has 3 goals and 2 assists, Brian Gibbons has 1 goal and 6 assists, and Cam Atkinson has 3 goals and 4 assists.

Goaltender John Muse has also been ridiculous over the past three games, allowing just two goals while making 68 saves in 8 periods of play.  It's all part of a huge bounce back season for Muse in his junior year.

His mask is dumb though.

The Eagles are currently #14 in both national polls, moving up from #15 a week ago.
